DampRid Mildew Stain Remover
Many people wait until it’s too late.
This applies to a whole number of things, from dinner reservations to
cleaning the house. In the case of
the latter, the state of the home can deteriorate to a high degree before
anything is done. Garbage
pile-up, unmitigated clutter, and unwanted microscopic growths can make the
home quite unlivable. This is
why products like DampRid were invented.
Although it can do nothing about your trash problem, people willing
to convert to a preventive mentality can use DampRid to reduce humidity
levels in the home, thereby stopping the growth of mold and mildew.
Due to its effectiveness and popularity, DampRid came out with a
whole line of mold and mildew products.
This is where we come back to things having gotten out of hand.
If mold and mildew have already grown in the damp areas of your home,
then the people behind DampRid suggest using their Mildew Stain Remover with
Blocker.
As an idea, the DampRid Mildew Stain Remover sounds
good. For the environment, the
bottle claims that there are no harmful fumes, making it a green product,
something very popular these days.
They also claim that if used properly, no harmful side effects will
be expected and rubber gloves are not needed as well.
This is probably due to it being a non bleach product, which is
usually a good thing since bleach isn’t recommended for removing mold and
mildew. The instructions are
generally simple, albeit similar to almost every other mildew cleaning spray
in the market. Just apply on the
affected surface, wait a few minutes, and wipe off.
Severe stains will need a little more scrubbing and more
applications. Even soap scum and
grime can be supposedly removed by this DampRid offering.
To top it all off, after the affected area is cleaned, the Stain
Remover doesn’t stop working as it also has a Blocker added to the mix.
When sprayed every month or every other month depending on moisture
levels, this spray should hold off mold and mildew.
The product has gotten a lot of mixed reviews, however - either it works ok but the blocker doesn’t do much, or the reason why it doesn’t have any fumes is because it’s wimpy. Some claim that even with repeated cleanings, a little stain is still left behind. No one would come out with a product if it didn’t work, but a lot of people report that this one just doesn’t work as well as hoped. At six to seven dollars, it’s not much more expensive compared to the competition. But due to relative inefficiency, it may be costing you more.
