Milstop

People should be familiar with mold and mildew, as they pretty much grow on any surface that has been wet for a long period of time.  These spores are quite hazardous to one’s health, which is why there are numerous products catering to your fungicide needs.  For those of you that do not have a green thumb, did you know that mildew can also grow on plants?  Mildew, along with other fungi and diseases can grow on leaves and other parts of the plant causing distortion and damage.  For crops growing and greenhouse owners, it would be advisable to have a product that can treat these foliar diseases.  One such product is called Milstop.

Milstop is a plant fungicide that needs to be sprayed on the affected subjects to take effect.  Once sprayed its main ingredient, potassium bicarbonate, takes effect by killing the mildew.  It also acts as a preventative since it changes the ph level on the leaf, thereby averting more fungal growth.  There are several other diseases that Milstop can control, or it says that much on the label.  It has been proven by studies however, that Milstop does have moderate to excellent effects on diseases like Botrytis, rust, downy and powdery mildew of different strains, and Pseudomonas leaf spot.  One shouldn’t wait until your crop or prized collection of ornaments is fully under the grasp of these diseases either.  We champion the cause of prevention here, and even on the first signs alone of any problem one should use Milstop.  It also works well when combined with a pesticide to fully protect your plants.  With this combo, any further unwanted activity should cease.

There’s no doubting the effectiveness of the product.  Milstop is a really strong fungicide, however, and there are many precautions that need to be taken.  Before application, one should wear the usual protective garments such as goggles, rubber gloves, mask or respirator, and full body clothing.  If there was a fungicide really not meant to touch the skin or be inhaled, this is it.  The right mixture should also be applied on the crops, since a highly concentrated solution will eventually cause distortion, something you are already trying to prevent with Milstop.  Weather conditions should even be checked, as strong winds can spread the product to other areas.  It would be a bad thing if this stuff gets into any body of water.  It is somewhat a painstaking process to use this fungicide, but it is a whole lot cheaper than calling for a service every time, and the effectiveness of Milstop makes up for any difficulty.  If all precautions are taken, then you should be fine.

More than 85 kinds of ornamental plants and a whole lot of different crops can benefit from the use of Milstop, and studies can back this up.  Again, it is very poisonous when first applied, so pull all the stops when it comes to protective gear.  In the end though, Milstop is an EPA registered fungicide and it is also regarded by the FDA as a GRAS product.  This means it is generally regarded as safe.  Overall, it’s a good curative and preventive solution for your fungal disease concerns.
